The Bigouden

The Bigouden land is surely the most famous of the britton lands : Though few are the persons who know its fronteers, many are those who know about the majestic old emblematic breton hat.

The bigouden land has its capital city, Pont l’Abbé, founded in the XIth century at the end of the estuary.

It has maintained its fishing activity onthe south coast, with 4 fishing harbours and strong peasant roots in a place know by its « Cheval d’Orgueil » of Pierre-Jakez Hélias.

The Bigouden land has kept many of its old buildings but has also preserved its natural specificities, the most remarkable certainly being the bay of Audierne, reknown for its surf spot at la Torche.
